Born is East Harlem to to members of the Black Panther Party, Tupac relocated to the West Coast in 1988 where his par career took off. Academics regard Tupac Shakur as one of the most influential music artists of the 20th century and a prominent political activist for Black America. His lyrical content has been noted for addressing social injustice, political issues, and the marginalization of other African-Americans. 2Pac was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996 in Nevada.
